Gooseberry Beach

Gooseberry Beach Hair & Perfume Oil Balmy salt water, sea kelp & spirulina algae, crisp bamboo & a trace of coolness from wet, dark sand Not a tropical, fruity beach scent but deep & cool & briny, Gooseberry Beach is named for a tiny enclave on Newport Island that we visited last summer. It's a small arc of sand in a protected inlet, ringed by huge rounded boulders & picturesque seaside mansions. The water is calm & the bottom smooth, perfect for little legs to explore. We spent hours digging in the grey sand, haring up & down the water line & dodging the curtains of red seaweed & kelp that floated in the shallows. It was a perfect pause in what had been a wonderful but busy holiday, & we lingered in the waves almost until sunset.
