Manitou

Manitou is the spiritual and fundamental life force in the theologies of Algonquian peoples. It is omnipresent and manifests everywhere: organisms, the environment, events, everything and everywhere. I was taught loosely of Manitou by my late friend, Erich, who was born and raised on a reservation across the border in Michigan. He also spoke at length about the great loss of life and well being for thousands of Indigenous women and children not only in the United States, but in Canada as well.
