The term is derived from Persian; gul (rose) and qand (sugar/sweet).Moona's version is the classic Rose Petal Jam recipe with a touch of cardamom and sugared rose geranium added, laid on a bed sweet vanilla cream with a smidgen of Alaskan Cypress
