Ruby Candlelight

When I was a child, my mother began observing advent as a part of her religious experience of Christmastime. I never fully understood all of the fine points of her ceremony, but I have to admit that it created a life long love of candles and the exquisite dancing light of the flame. She had other wonderful Christmas decorations that were only allowed to be experienced during this very short period of time in December, including my favorite candle set: a golden angel set on a twirling wheel. The softly scented candles were in ruby colored glass holders and the heat from the flames would set the angel in motion. I can recall countless deeply dark evenings, with all of the lights out except for the colored lights on our tree and the spinning glow from my darling angel. It felt solemn and mysterious, and joyful, too. This is the quality that I hoped to express in this new holiday fragrance for 2021: Ruby Candlelight.
